The Gallery is pleased to present the work of David Hutchinson. The name of Hutchinson’s exhibition, Words are Elves, is based on a comment by Sartre. “It is an alarming observation that is not really lingered on, but in a follow-up statement Sartre compares a stylis to a wand—both having a magical ability to influence and transform imagery,” the artist says. Upon first reading this passage, he immediately felt a connection that could be expressed visually. View the Works of David Hutchinson
For the new series Svala’s Saga, Powell collaborated with her mother and fellow artist Kirsten Hoving, Charles A. Dana Professor of Art History at Middlebury College and co-founder of PhotoPlace Gallery in Vermont. This joint project is inspired by the pressing environmental problem of species extinction, and was realized while mother and daughter were traveling within the minimalist landscapes of Iceland. The Lionheart Gallery is please to present the work of Philippe Halaburda. Halaburda’s works explore the universal themes of love, personal crisis, beauty, and death, playing out in sprawling, imaginary urban maps and landscapes. Exploring interactions between shapes and lines, he forms “art topographies” that explore social tensions and relationships. View the Works of Philippe Halaburda
